The Speedy Stitcher ® Sewing Awl is a hand tool that can be used to sew any heavy material. It is a helpful tool to have around the house, farm, workshop, or any place where leather, canvas, or vinyl may need to be sewn or repaired. Every Speedy Stitcher ® is Made in the USA and comes with our signature high-tensile waxed polyester thread and custom-made diamond point needles. With a little practice, it sews a perfect lock stitch every time - just like a sewing machine. Use the Speedy Stitcher ® for the assembly and repair of leather goods, canvas tarps, climbing and camping gear, book binding repair, saddlery and tack items, athletic equipment, and more.

One of our most sought after FAQs is how to properly use the Speedy Stitcher® Sewing Awl to sew a basic lock stitch. Please find downloadable instructions, as well as video demos to walk you through the process.
All Speedy Stitcher® sewing awls come with a bobbin of thread pre-loaded in the awl handle and two needles stored under the chuck lock of the awl. This makes using the awl easy and quick, you can start any sewing project almost immediately. If you need to get your awl set up, we have created a quick video that shows how to do this. Stitching Instructions
1. Starting from the backside, push the needle through the material of your project. On the front-side, fully draw out the thread, long enough to do the entire project - remember to add an extra 3" of the thread.
2. While keeping your thumb firmly over the thread on the handle of the awl, hold the thread and pull the needle back out of the hole. Then start it through the second hole.
3. Push the needle through the second hole as far as it will go. Then pull back slightly on the awl just until a loop is formed.
4. Pass all of the thread through this loop.
5. Hold the thread end taut. Pull the needle out of the hole, forming a lock-stitch. Pull taut, the lock-stitch knot should be buried in the middle of the fabric layers.
6. Release more thread between the needle and material to allow for the next stitch. Continue this process until your project is finished.
7. After the last hole on the backside of your project, grasp the loop and pull the thread out of the hole.
8. Cut the thread, leaving two 3" lengths to tie off.
9. Tie the ends in the knot on the backside. Trim the excess thread.
10. To safely store the Speedy Stitcher® Sewing Awl, remove the needle from the threaded post and place it back in the appropriate slot. Screw the chuck lock back in place. Presto!

The delivery charge is automatically added to your order and you will see the total amount you have to pay before you confirm the order. Unfortunately we have to charge carriage but we do attempt to keep it to a minimum where possible
All orders leaving us require a signature, and the delivery could take place any time between 8am and 6pm depending on the courier used. If you are liable to be out, please give an alternative delivery address or type instructions into the notes section as you place your order.
Standard Service; We will aim to dispatch goods within 3 working days. Delivery on the standard service is via courier, will require a signature and we aim to deliver within 5 working days. This service will only arrive on working days.
Courier delivery; The majority of our parcels will be sent via a courier, the bulk of which are with APC Streetwise. Please be aware that they advertise their delivery times as anywhere between 8am - 6pm Monday to Friday. We are not able to dictate to them a time slot. And in most cases a signature will be required.

NB; For orders to mainland Europe and Rest of World, the cost for carriage is calculated on order package weight and final destination. Please be advised that if your order is sent via courier outside of the EU you may need to pay for import/custom taxes after the order has been delivered to you. We would kindly suggest contacting your local customs office for more information and advice. Additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by you; unfortunately, we have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. LIQUIDS & CHEMICALS; Please note we are unable to deliver liquids or chemicals overseas or to highlands and island addresses. We will also have to use a courier service within GB Mainland for liquids or chemicals.
SALE OF KNIVES; In accordance with UK Law (The Offensive Weapons Act 1996), we are unable to sell knives to anyone under 18 years of age. We are unable to send knives to overseas destinations. You must upload a copy of a valid identity document to your order at time of ordering or your order will be cancelled. Knives must be sent on a signature courier service. Valid forms of ID are EU Passports, EU Photocard Driving Licence, MOD Form 90 ID Card, EU Member State National Identity Card, “PASS” ID Cards.

Our returns policy on items shipped within the UK is as follows:
To qualify for a refund you have 14 days from receipt of your order to notify us that you wish to cancel the order and return the goods. You then have 14 days to return the goods to us at your own expense. If you fail to notify us of your desire to cancel the order and return the goods within 14 days of receipt you are not entitled to a refund. If you do not return the goods to us within 14 days after notification you are not entitled to a refund.
Your items should be unused and in the same condition as received. They should also be in the original packaging.
To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.
Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer.
If goods are faulty or damaged on receipt we will ask for photographic evidence of the fault or damage where feasible.
